FAST APPROACHING: With less than a month to go until World Family Doctor Day, 19 May 2024, we are excited to see what our member organisations and doctors have in store for this year's campaign, which is themed on Planetary Health.

YDM-WP/SIG COLLABORATIVE WEBINAR SERIES

HEALTHY PLANET, HEALTHY PEOPLE: We are excited to announce the first webinar of the WONCA Young Doctors' Movement (YDM) - Working Parties/Special Interest Groups (WP/SIG) Collaborative Series. The first session, taking place on Sunday 24 April, 2:00 PM UTC, is titled Healthy Planet, Healthy People, aligning with the theme for World Family Doctor Day 2024.

YOUNG DOCTORS: Organised by the Waynakay Movement (Young Doctors' Movement of Latin America) and WONCA's Working Party on Planetary Health, the webinar will discuss a range of issues relating to planetary health. Live interpretation in English, Spanish, and Mandarin will be available. REGISTER.

GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT CERTIFICATE IN CLIMATE AND HEALTH: An initiative of the Global Climate and Health Alliance, this is a comprehensive 14-session program tailored for individuals aiming to understand and influence the interplay between global climate policies and public health outcomes, and organizations aiming to strengthen their engagement in climate and health. WHO BRIEFING - GLOBAL HEALTH EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS: WONCA Members have been invited to participate in an upcoming briefing session on Universal Health and Preparedness Review (UHPR) on Tuesday 30 April 2024 at 13:30-14:30 CEST. The UHPR is a WHO Member States-led review mechanism of a country’s comprehensive national health emergency preparedness capacities. A RESPONSE TO THE LANCET EDITORIAL: Some of our colleagues have written a response to a controversial editorial published last year by Richard Horton, editor-in-chief of The Lancet. In the editorial, he criticizes the global health strategy that primarily focuses on primary healthcare for achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
